Hopefully there was one cool thing.
My parents car history is... really good actually. Well, my dad's is, my mom's not so much.
Lets start with the best: My dad had a pea green 70 Camaro SS (which is a hard color to find a picture of)
Apparently this thing was a monster. That is, until he flipped it onto it's roof and totaled it.
He also had a Silverado 454 SS
But this was stolen in 2002, and discovered parked on top of a Cadillac with a blown motor and ruined suspension.
My mom hasn't had much in terms of cool. The coolest she probably had was a Dodge Daytona ES.
It was this awesome electric blue color. It wasn't a very good car and was replaced by a Saturn SC2 in 1994.
She wants a CTS-V Coupe eventually, so cool will come in the future.
So Oppo, what cool cars have your parents owned?

My dad has a '69 Corvette with the big block. He bought it new after he graduated college and still owns it.

I wish my dad would've fixed his Camaro. He'd probably still have it if it wasn't for his stupid self showing off.

My mom knew someone who had a Levi's Edition Hornet. What a funny special edition.
But Denim seats sound kind of awesome.

My mom has owned a 2nd gen camaro and a 280zx

My parents had a '57 Fairlane similar to the one shown but with no Continental kit. It had the 312 Thunderbird Special under the hood. They also had a '65 Galaxie convertible with the 390.

My dad owned a white Supra and a Triumph TR3. The triumph was his first car and he always had to roll start it on his hill. If it didn't start, he'd use his dad's old Pontiac (I believe it was a bonneville) to tow it back up to the top and try again.

Needless to say, my parents weren't the ones who got me into cars.

My mom has never driven an overly interesting car. The most interesting? Probably her current 2012 Jetta.
My dad is a lot better. He had a 206 GTI that he had for a while in the early 2000's. My dad's more of a bike guy, having owned a K1200LT for 12 years.
My stepdad is the best, since he daily drove a Town car for 3 years in the early 2000's. He lived in Vancouver, but drove weekly to Seattle for work, so he needed a big, comfy car. I know he had a flowmaster set up on it, so It burbled a lot!

Step 1: Take a 413 Max Wedge from a chrysler limo that made 500 ft/lbs from the factory already, but had a very low rev limit.
Step 2: Bore it to 460 ci, twin 4-barrel carburetors
Step 3: Get overstock nascar 426 hemi cams, heads, valves, etc. (there were a lot left lying around when displacement was limited in 1971) to raise the powerband close to 8500 (and a tolerable peak RPM somewhere around 9900+) with high quality race parts
Step 4: Hook it up to a Nascar-spec BW T-10 4-speed with nickel-alloy gears to handle the torque
Step 5: Daily drive it on nitromethane
Step 6: ???
Step 7: Horsepower!

My dad drove a 1930 Model A in high school. He had to drain the radiator in the winder when he got to school and he would then fill a bucket up in the shower after basketball practice to refill to drive home.
After college he bought a 1972 cutlass convertible. Then is was a series of company cars after I was born. We had a 1987 GMC Jimmy when I was a kid, then he bought a 1991 Mistubishi 3000GT VR-4 when I was in middle school. He added a 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible when I was in high school. He sold it and the VR4 when I was in college and now has a 2000 something grand cherokee and a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T
My mom had a 65 mustang in high school that my grandfather bought from a wrecker yard and fixed for her. AFter college she has a MGB convertible until she was pregnant with me and couldn't fit in it. That and summer traffic in Houston was a killer. It would stall if she used the AC while sitting still for very long. Then some green buick coupe, then a blue olds delta 88, pontiac sunbird, then mini vans for the company she had.

my dad had one of 50ish Bathurst homologated LC XU1 Torana's back in the 70's
a triple carb straight six, He reckoned there wasn't much that would keep up with it on a windy road.. but doesn't ever want to drive one again because he's worried it will taint his memory of it.

Well, my dad is limited to a 69 Corvair, which *I* think is pretty cool, anyway, even if no on else really does.
My father-in-law has a much cooler list than that: Bug eye Sprite, Classic Mini, MG, and a Sunbeam Tiger (which both he and I both wish he had kept). Then my wife was born, and there was a need for backseats and practicality. In 2003 he returned to his roots as best he could with a MINI Coopers S, which I bought from him in 2007 and enjoyed for a few years before I figured out that BMW didn't think I was rich enough to maintain it.

My dad had a pretty badass mid 70s f150. It was like mint green and dark green. Apparently it was the kind of truck you drove straight through snow drifts into fields to pull out stuck tanks with.
My mom has had various AMC thingamabobbers . . . the coolest of which being an Eagle SX4. Since I was born, its been a lot lamer . . . Lebaron, Intrepid, Xl7, Grand Vitara . . . meh
My stepdad has had some interesting things, like a 79ish Cutlass with one of the various wierd little sub 305 ci V8s they tried in them. A Mk1 Mr2. A nissan hardbody, a suzuki sidekick, and finally two in a row ford rangers. All but the Cutlass and the latest ranger have been manuals.

1966 Dodge Coronet 500 Hemi. Black with a 4.30 Dana 60 rear and NP 4 speed.
Not his, but his was just like it. Stolen and stripped out. Eventually recovered but just a shell, so he let it go.

My love of cars came from both sides, so let's see:
While they were married:
Chevy Chevelle SS, Dodge Monaco (Hemi?) wagon (just like Big Daddy Don Garlits' pit crew had), prototype Jeep (it had camper thing like a pick-up where you backed under it and attached it to the Jeep, but it was longer and the end of the camper had a pair of wheels as well), Jaguar XK150 roadster (ex-race car w/ Corvette big block), Jaguar XK-E convertible and a 1970 K5 Chevy Blazer.
After they split:
Dad: Dodge Challenger, Chevy 4x4 p/u, Chevy Suburban 4x4, Porsche 356B, Jeep CJ5, Pontiac GTO, Dodge Dart convertible race car, (bowing head in shame) Cadillac Cimmarron, Audi 4000 quattro turbo, Porsche 911 targa, another 4x4 Suburban, Ferrari Daytona coupe, and a bunch of crap after that.
Mom: VW Super Beetle, Corvette, Audi 5000 quattro turbo, Honda Prelude, Mazda RX7 twin turbo, another Corvette, Mercedez Benz 300CE, and some family crap (Civic, Le Mans, etc).
